Affording Internet at home:

Free Internet Options

Many businesses (coffee shops, for example) offer free WiFi that can be used. Use this map to find free WiFi options near you. Be careful because these are often not secure options.

Jeffco Public Libraries offer both free WiFi at their locations AND an opportunity to check out wireless hot spots. Please note that there are often waiting lists for the available hot spots.

Lost-Cost Internet Options

Comcast: Comcast offers a package called Internet Essentials for low income families for $9.95/month +tax. There is an application process to verify eligibility. Comcast also offers an option to purchase a low-cost computer for families enrolled in their Internet Essentials program.

PCs for People: PCs for People offers high speed 4G LTE Internet service. Plans are prepaid; there is an application process to verify eligibility. PCs for People also offers low-cost computers for eligible individuals and families.

Mobile Internet Options

Finally, many cell phone service providers offer the option to have your phone act as a "hot spot" for Internet access. Please contact your cell phone provider for more information and availability/cost for this option.
