Welcome Back Chargers Information 26-27

Good Morning Chatfield Families,

I hope you have had a great summer so far!  Believe it or not, we are 1 month away from kicking off the 26-27 school year together!  I am so excited to welcome our students back, and to have another amazing school year together at CSH!

Here are a couple of other topics that I wanted to reach out and provide you with reminders and some more information on.

New Bell Schedule For 26-27

As we shared throughout the Spring, we will have a new modified block bell schedule for the 26-27 school year.  You can find our different bell schedules here, and our year at a glance for which days will follow which schedule, here.

Students and parents will be able to access the Infinite Campus portal by August 3rd.

There are a number of positive elements of this shift including students having access to more classes and high school and college credits, students having the ability to engage in more Career and Technical coursework as well as more Work-Based Learning opportunities, aligning with our neighboring high schools to share resources and more. If you have any questions about the bell schedule overall and how it will look on a weekly and daily basis, please join our virtual information session on August 4th at 6pm via this link.

Parking Passes

Students can pick up their parking passes in the atrium on Wednesday, 8/12, from 9 am- Noon, or in the afternoon on Thursday, 8/13, from 1 pm - 3 pm. Students, be sure to bring your driver's license and receipt showing you have paid in order to pick up your pass!

Important Dates for the 26-27 School Year

Check out our 26-27 Important Dates Calendar.  There may always be a couple of small changes as the year progresses, but the majority of these dates and times are set and can be helpful for people doing early planning.

Tuesday, August 18:  Back to School Night 6:30-8:30 pm  (Mtg for 9th grade families and families new to Chatfield at 6:00 pm)

Wednesday, August 19:  Freshmen Orientation

Thursday, August 20:  School Starts for All Students (Even Day)

Please note that our assigned homecoming game and dance dates fall on the front part of a 4 day weekend in October.  We will have our homecoming week from October 5th to 10th, with our assembly on Friday (10/9) our dance on Saturday (10/10).  Then students will have a long weekend, with no classes on Monday (10/12) or Tuesday (10/13).  Classes will resume on Wednesday (10/14) and Future Planning Day is Thursday (10/15).  We know families may make arrangements for long weekends, and so we wanted to note how that weekend is laid out.

Summer Assignment Reminders

All students and families should refer to the summer assignment and school year preview information that students may want to spend time looking at over the next month to get ready for the 26-27 school year.

Communication Chart for Parents/Guardians

This is a helpful communication guide for who you can and should reach out to when different issues may arise for your student. This chart is set up to inform you on who to reach out to first for any issue, and then who you should contact next if your issue is not resolved.

Fall Athletics Registration is Open

We would love for all of our students to get involved right away in the fall.  You can sign up for the fall season of athletics by visiting our CSH athletics webpage here.  Our fall student and parent athletic meeting will be August 13th at 7pm in the Main Gym.

Support CSH Athletics By Playing In or Sponsoring Our Golf Fundraiser

Consider joining us for the 1st Annual Chatfield Athletics Golf Tournament on Thursday, July 30th at Racoon Creek Golf Course. This event is vital in helping our athletic department to respond to recent budget reductions. 100% of the proceeds will directly support Chatfield Athletics including helping to fund essential field maintenance, student leadership opportunities, family financial aid, and long-term facility upgrades. Player registration and sponsorship opportunities are currently open but filling quickly, and you can secure your spot, help sponsor or contribute to our efforts by completing this form.   Thank you for your continued support of our Chatfield student-athletes!

Opportunity to Join our Chatfield Staff

We are seeking people to join our amazing staff.  We currently have a job open for a Special Education general support role.  This staff member will help to provide support for Special Education students in our general education classes.  If you are interested in this role you can apply on the Jeffco Public Schools Job Board, here.

Our office is now open each weekday, and we are available to answer your questions at 303.982.3670.  As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions that you may have.  I’d love to connect with you!

I hope you continue to have a fantastic summer doing the things you love with the people you love!

Go Chargers!
