Examples of Manufacture defect: Trackpad or keyboard stops working or the screen stops displaying.

Examples of Accidental damage: Trackpad or keyboard stops working because you spilled liquid on it or the screen stops displaying because you dropped your chromebook.

Can students/families purchase their own cases for these devices?

No. The district has chosen a particular case for devices because of its protective abilities. This case will be provided with the device and should remain on the device at all times. We do recommend that you purchase a backpack or carrying case that provides additional protections while transporting the device to and from school.

What happens if I break my device?

If your device is acting unusual but nothing appears to be physically broken, go to the district TechForEd website and check the troubleshooting guide to see if there is an easy fix to the issue you are having.

If you have physically broken your device, take it to the library to check it in for repair, which will be done by Lenovo certified personnel in Jeffco. Students may be given a loaner device to use during the time their device is out for repair. Families will be billed the cost of the repair, if you have not purchased an Accidental Damage Warranty. Fees can be paid in Jeffco Connect when the repair is complete.
