Discuss question for school & home: How can I keep my personal data safe and secure?

Many of us are aware that we’re being tracked when we go online. It’s one of the ways our favorite websites and apps know how to recommend content just for us. But how much information are companies actually collecting? And what are they doing with it? Digging into the details can help us make smart decisions about our online privacy and how to protect it.

How can you fight against big data?
~Turn off cookies in your browser settings.
~Review the app’s privacy settings and opt out of any sharing options you’re not comfortable with (like don’t type in your birthday, etc.)
~Review the privacy policy and terms of service and use ASK to analyze how using the app will affect your privacy.
ASK = Accessed (what is collected), Shared (what is shared and with whom), and Known (what could be known about me if I use this)?
