Consumer Auto Tech

Semester - Grade level: 9-12 - Credit 1/2
This is an introductory course which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of the automobile. All automotive systems are covered. The class will cover the theory of auto systems, application of theory to the automobile, and safety. There will be some hands-on application. This is an ideal class for young men and women to learn about their automobile. (A driver's license is preferred but no required.)

Intermediate Auto Tech

Semester - Grade level: 10-12 - Credit 1/2
Prerequisite: Consumer Auto Tech

Auto Tech B is designed to expand the knowledge and skills that students attained in Consumer Auto. Intermediate Auto Tech is a prerequisite for the program offered at Warren Tech.

Vocational Auto Tech

Semester - Grade level: 11-12 - Credit 1/2
Prerequisite: Teacher Approval

This program is for students with a strong interest in auto mechanics who plan post-high school employment in this area. Students may be able to test for certification after completion of this class.

Geometry for Construction


This course serves all emphasis areas of engineering graphics. Course content includes fundamentals of layout, construction and dimensioning techniques as applied to two-dimensional drawings; systems and database management; and production of computer-generated drawings to ASME, AIA and other applicable specifications. The majority of the student‘s work will be done on the computer using the same Computer Assisted Drafting & Design (CADD) software that is used in college.

Construction Tech

Explores the expanding array of careers within the construction industry. Students will be exposed to the construction industry through job site tours, hands-on experience, and classroom activities.

Engineer Design Intro

This is a course that teaches problem-solving skills using a design development process. Models of product solutions are created, analyzed and communicated using the solid-modeling computer design software, AUTODESK Inventor. This course, combined with traditional high school mathematics and science courses introduces students to the scope, rigor, and discipline of engineering prior to entering college. It is recommended that students have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Wood Tech

This is an introductory course to senior high woodworking designed to briefly review hand tool processes, introduce students to power machine tools and give students techniques for wood finishes. This course will have project work.
