CASFA
CASFA logoYou've heard of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) but what about the CASFA? The Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA - for short) provides Colorado ASSET (Advancing Students for a Stronger Tomorrow) students the opportunity to apply for state-funded financial aid.

Whew! That's a lot! To break it down the CASFA allows state-funded financial aid — different from any federal financial aid you would get through the FAFSA — to be awarded to students who do not have lawful immigration status but have resided in the state for at least three years before graduating from a Colorado high school or passing a high school equivalency exam and were admitted to a participating college within 12 months of graduating high school.

Non-U.S. citizen residents and non-resident students are encouraged to fill out the CASFA and could be eligible to qualify for institutional aid (aid through your selected higher education institution). If you think you might qualify, we encourage you to learn more about the CASFA and apply.
