Repair/Warranty/Lost

During Remote Learning:

If you have any issues with your chromebook, please first read these tech tips.

Lost your charger & don't/can't get one from us? This is the charger you need, other "off" brands will ruin your motherboard. Or you can purchase one from the school. Call Mrs. Weller to arrange a purchase.

Chromebook Repair/Warranty Program

Procedure if Lost or Stolen: 

1. Notify the library staff of lost or stolen device IMMEDIATELY.
2. Go to all your classes to look for the device within the building (if you were here when you lost it). Be sure to ASK your teachers, they may have put it in a locked cabinet or some other out-of-the-way place.
3. We will look to see if we can find the last place it was logged in.
4. If we can not find it, the device will be locked with a message on the screen for anyone who finds it to turn it into Jeffco.
5. Student may check out a loaner device for one month to see if the device is found but will need to purchase a new device within that month if it is not found. 


Is your chromebook not working properly? Check out this troubleshooting document then contact Ms. Weller or Mr. Bartuska right away, don't wait!

Procedure if Broken:

  • Bring your device to the library and if we can do a quick fix, we will and send you back to class. If you are remote, please contact Mr. Bartuska or Mrs. Weller by email If we cannot fix it, we will arrange to give you a loaner.
  • If the repair is due to a manufacture defect and it is under warranty, nothing needs to be done by the family.
  • If the repair is from accidental damage, approval for the cost of the repair must be given by the parents/guardian before repair is started.
  •  When repair is finished, loaner must be turned in and you will get your computer back.

Warranty information and options (accidental damage) - you can only purchase one warranty for the life of your device and it must be purchased within the manufacture warranty time (before it expires during the first year). Choose carefully!
